BizMums Award Finalist!
While I was caught up in all the excitement of our son's third birthday this weekend, I found out that I had been chosen as a Finalist for TWO BizMums Awards - Creative Business of the Year and BizMums Host of the Year. To say I was chuffed to bits was an understatement.
I joined BizMums about 18 months ago when I was struggling to get out and promote my business at other networking groups. I was finding that they were at inconvenient times of the day that didn't really fit in with nursery times and if I did decide to bring James along, it was unusual to bring children so everyone wanted to talk to him instead of to me about my business! BizMums provides a informal environment for me to network with James in tow and because most of the women involved are in the same boat, the last thing everyone talks about is their kids! What a relief to find an amazing bunch of women who understand exactly what you are going through trying to juggle work and family life and who encourage and support each other. It's very special indeed.
Earlier this year I was asked to Host a new group in Nantwich and we have been going since May. I've really enjoyed my role as Host, finding speakers, talking about Bizmums in my local community, meeting like-minded women and connecting people together, and as well as my own business benefitting from it, I have met some amazing people and made some great friends.
The Award Winners will be announced on Saturday 17th October at the BizMums Conference and Awards Day at the Manor House Hotel in Alsager. If last years event was anything to go by, it will be a great day of networking, informative, inspirational speakers and recognition for all we have achieved. Whatever the result, I am proud to be a part of BizMums and very honoured to have got this far in the competition.
I am photographing the event as I did last year so if I do win either of these awards, I'll need a volunteer to grab my camera! Eek!
