I'm really pleased to be involved with a local charity called the One in Eleven Appeal which is to raise funds for a new neonatal intensive care unit at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Cheshire.  One in eleven of the 3000 babies born at Mid Cheshire Hospitals need the special care and support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit whether it be for a few hours or for the first few months of their lives.  They need to raise one million pounds to be able to make much needed improvements and continue to provide a high level of care in the future.

One of the events, I'm helping to promote is the Teddy Bears Picnic at Cholmondeley Castle on Sunday 5th August 2012.  I'll be there with my camera to capture the event so they have a record of the day and can use the photos for promoting future fundraising events.

It's bound to be a fantastic family day out, planned activities will include a Teddy Bear hunt with treasure maps and prizes included, a Punch & Judy show, face-painting and tombola, with picnics available to purchase and enjoy on the day.

Event tickets will include general admission to the grounds, so the whole family can also take advantage of Cholmondeley’s extensive facilities – including a children's play area, picnic site, farm animals and an aviary with many varieties of birds. The popular tea-room will sell a large variety of home-cooked treats for the adults to enjoy in addition to the children’s picnics.

There is an advance ticket offer for a free child ticket with every adult ticket purchased up until 27th July so head over to the Teddy Bears Picnic website for more details and to book your tickets online.  All proceeds from the day will go to the One in Eleven Appeal.
