I was really chuffed when my friend and client Jo Howarth asked me to shoot the cover of her new book entitled "Get Happy". I'd already done some professional headshots for Jo early last year when she launched her new business, The Happiness Club.

Jo is a mindful hypnotherapist.  She works with individuals, groups, schools and companies to help people feel happier and more positive.  She is very passionate about working with children, particularly primary school age and runs workshops with staff and children in schools to help them cope with stress and build their resilience.  Her first book 'Glad to Be Dan' which she has co written with author Jude Lennon is aimed at children aged 4-8 and helps them to learn mindfulness techniques and gratitude. You can buy it on Amazon here.

The new book "Get Happy" is for Grown Ups.  It's a compilation of the first 6 months of daily thoughts from her Happiness Club and it gives lots of tips and techniques about how to feel more positive. After chatting with Jo, it seemed she had a very definite idea about what she wanted for the cover photograph.  When she explained to me what she was after, I was very excited and knew it would be a fun shoot,

So as you will see from the cover photograph, this shoot involved choosing a nice sunny bright day and a location with an open space where she could jump up and down quite a iot until she was happy with an image of herself jumping up and down!  It was trickier than it looks but we had a very fun shoot and lots of laughs!

Her book is out TODAY!  She has a launch event tonight at Write Blend bookshop in Liverpool but if you can't make it there, please buy it from Amazon today or as soon as possible and help to get her high up in the charts!
