My Trip to Tropic Skincare Headquarters

About 12 months ago I discovered a range of skincare and make up that literally blew me away.  That may sound a bit daft especially if you know me well as I’m not really a girlie girl and although I know the benefits of a good skincare routine having been a Beauty Therapist 20 years ago and having problem skin myself, I’m not scared of facing the world without make up most of the time.

I discovered Tropic Skincare and make up through BizMums, a business networking group that I am involved with.  I had been searching high and low for products that didn’t test on animals, weren’t full of toxins and harmful chemicals and were also kind to the environment.  I could find products that ticked these boxes but they weren’t particularly pleasant to use and didn’t do the job that they were meant to do.

After being introduced to Tropic by Marie Claire-Carlyle when she was speaking at my Nantwich BizMums group, I firstly started using the products myself and I absolutely loved them, they ticked every box and then some!  Very quickly and after some persuasion from my friends and family, I decided to become a Tropic Ambassador so that I could spread the word about these amazing products.  I was worried how I would fit this in along with my photography business and a 3 year old but I’m finding the time and loving it.

These images were taken at a recent trip to Tropic headquarters in Surrey.  I was extremely excited about visiting the place where it all happens, and meeting Susie Ma and the team.  All the skincare is made on site, everything is stored here and despatched from here and all the ideas and product development all happen here.  All under one roof, or three now as it’s constantly expanding!

Whilst we were at Tropic HQ we were given a full tour of the place, met all the people that make our products and that we speak to on the phone, helped out in the Beauty Kitchen on the production line.  We were treated to a light lunch and a lovely evening meal and lots of gin and prosecco but the highlight of the day was spending an hour or two with Susie Ma formulating our own face masks and bath bombs!  Great fun!

I took my new Fuji X-T1 camera as I wanted to travel light as I was travelling on the train and also didn’t want my large amount of Canon gear to get in the way of the day.  I’ve not used this camera for shooting with clients yet, I treated myself to it for my birthday and have been really enjoying taking it out and about with me and being able to capture natural and good quality images of our days out.

Hope you like the images and if you would like to find out more about Tropic Skincare or try the products yourself, you can order direct from me here: www.kirstieedwards.co.uk/tropic or give me a shout and I’ll introduce you!
