Manchester Town Hall Wedding - Ben & Lindsay
On the first Anniversary of my gorgeous step brother Ben and his beautiful wife Lindsay's wedding at Manchester Town Hall, I thought it would be nice to share some of the images from their special day. I was more than a little nervous about being given the job of photographing their wedding, the responsibility was even greater than usual to capture the day as well as I could. As with lots of weddings these days, there was a fair amount of homemade creations making it all very personal to them. I wanted to make sure every detail was captured so it could be remembered.
The weather wasn't great and with it being a city centre venue, all the locations where I needed to be were very spread out so it was a bit of a mission getting between each one in the time contraints and avoiding the rain showers too! Lindsay began her preparations at home with her Mum and her two bridesmaids and they finished off getting ready at the Midland Hotel just a short walk from the Town Hall. Ben and his brother Sam, the two best men and quite a few friends all met up round the corner at 'Dogs n Dough' for a pizza and a drink or two.
The girls did need their umbrellas for their walk from the Midland to the Town Hall but once inside, the venue was so beautiful there was no need to venture outside again for any photos during the day. It's an incredible place with stunning architecture, go visit if you haven't been inside, you can even have lunch in their Sculpture Hall Cafe.
The wedding breakfast and evening reception were held in the Great Hall. The amazing murals all around the walls and beautiful high painted ceilings made it feel very grand and special indeed. The wedding cake was awesome, made to Lindsay's design and as a reminder of Ben's underwater proposal.
The evening reception involved a live band, plenty of dancing, a very cool photo booth and some boys smoking cigars.
It was a beautiful day and fantastic for me because as well as working, I got to catch up with lovely family too.
Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary you two. Hope you enjoy looking back at these images lots of love xx
